Checking the quality of springs

To identify small cracks, flaw detection is carried out, its types:

  • Magnetic. The springs are magnetized and then immersed in a special mixture, this allows you to see all existing external defects.
  • Luminescent. A special composition is applied to the surface of the products and illuminated. The luminescent layer allows you to see even small damage to the surface.

The dimensions of the compression springs comply with established standards. During the production process, the following are controlled:

  • spring height,
  • number of coils
  • outer and inner diameter
  • perpendicularity of end planes

Hardness testing methods

To test the hardness of the material from which the product is made, a steel ball is pressed into it. The force and duration of the impact are regulated by the standard.
